Uncle Leon's Memorial
Family gathered in Hagerstown Maryland for Leon Smith's memorial. A mass and memorial were held in Hancock at the church were Uncle Leon used to go to mass.
After the mass we went into the church meeting rooms for some lunch and to meet some of his friends from that area. For me it was just a year since Sherwood and I drove down to visit him. Besides that I hadn't seen some of my cousins in too long.
After a break we met again at the hotel for more reminiscing and to share in the photo presentation that James put together. I know I hadn't seen some of those photos before. Especially the ones of Uncle Leon at the guns in WWII. He sure had an interesting life.
It was good to gather with friends and family and get to know one another a bit and talk about his life.
