Reunion in Maryland May 2010

We gathered in Chocolate City (Pfunk)/Silver Springs to celebrate the birthdays of Aunt Margaret and Uncle Leon. Since they were just a few days apart. Aunt Margaret was having her 90th birthday. Uncle Leon was "just" 85. Both got really nice cakes and we had a pretty cool dinner. I remember that D.C was pretty hot for May. At least for us coming down from the North country and the deep snows of Maine in May. But the really cool thing happened the next day at Tamara's and Donald's home for brunch. We got to listen to stories of how the "kids" caused cattle stampedes in the wilds of Englewood and other tales. Imagine a cattle drive in Englewood now. I sure miss all the stories and wisdom of our ancestors and the elder Smiths. Gone too soon and too fast. But there are some video recordings of that weekend. Wayne had set up a video camera in the room for the dinner and let it run for a couple of hours it seems like. The next day at brunch I tried to capture at least some of the stories on my mobile. The video and audio in these first 3 vids is pretty bad but servicable. They were shot with a blackberry. Which was hightech at the time... You remember Blackberries don't you? You probably still have one in a drawer or box somewhere. :
